I love the stories that people tell themselves! “I hate selling. I am no good at sales. I don’t like sales. I don’t want to sell. Does that sound familiar?” We don’t have a choice but to sell if we want our businesses to survive. These hints and tips from Nevil Tynemouth, New Results Training, should set […]
I’ve been inspired by a discussion I had with other small business owners during a masterclass with Digital Sparkles and the NBSL. I realised that small and medium business owners are often overwhelmed by pricing strategy. Nevertheless, pricing can have a huge impact on the success of our business. Social media is an integral part of your marketing mix and positively contributes to how you are perceived online and your social media channels may be the first time a customer stumbles across your brand and learns about your business.
When you open any social media account, your business profile needs to be set up correctly to ensure that your audience’s first impression of your business is a great one so let’s get straight to it.
Naming your Accounts
1. Username: Choose your username (it will have the @ symbol at the front of it) on your social platforms carefully and try and get them to either match or be as similar as you can so it’s easy for people to find you.
For example, we are @thesavvysolos on Twitter and Thesavvysolosclub on Facebook. Your username is exclusive to your account and appears in your URL which can then be shared to help people find you.

Imagine this; dozens of amazing, enthusiastic, hard-working business owners meeting each month to learn from one another and access focused training sessions on topics ranging from self-confidence to Google Analytics, it’s a recipe for motivation and success.
The unique situation of every member being self-employed, or running a business totally on their own, means that there is no hierarchy in The Club; everyone is equal, everyone is valuable and everyone GETS what the others experience.
I know that being an active member of a community is important for small business owners, our work is challenging at the best of times and we all need others’ to bounce ideas off and download with…

Every year I glance at the regional and national awards wondering why the measure of success tends to be measured on turnover and financial growth (well, it seems to me to […]
